Who Should Attend:

Our Safeguarding Training for Education staff is aimed at all staff within an education or alternate provision and will provide them with the knowledge and understanding to effectively safeguard children within the setting and will ensure they record and report effectively.

The advanced safeguarding training is aimed at those staff with key pastoral responsibilities within the setting such as Tutor, Head of Year, SENCO etc. This course further expands and builds on the knowledge from the universal course. There is a particular focus on roles and responsibilities, referrals, children’s services thresholds and processes.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead training is designed for members of the school’s safeguarding team and is designed to support leads to understand the very latest legislation, guidance and child protection processes. It explores how to create a culture of safeguarding within the setting and effectively raise awareness within the organisation.

The safeguarding training for Governors is designed to give school governors the skills and confidence to support the governing body to ensure a whole school approach to safeguarding and creating a safer culture. This course increases awareness of safeguarding, explores the S175/157 responsibilities and the role of the governing body, considers the sharing of information from the school leadership team and reflects on relevant inspection criteria.

The Low-Level Concerns training gives participants the information they need to understand and respond appropriately to low-level concerns and comply with relevant statutory guidance. It is suitable for head teachers, members of the school safeguarding team and safeguarding governors. The course will cover what constitutes appropriate and inappropriate behaviour, what is a low-level concern and the recording and reporting of these. Participants will learn how to ensure low-level concerns are embedded within the wider safeguarding culture of the school, ensuring an ethos of openness and trust. They will explore the importance of adults working within their schools consistently modelling the school values and how low-level concern reporting protects staff from potential false allegations or misunderstandings.
