Description:

Rachel James Training offers high-quality online or in-person specialist brain injury training for professionals, care and support workers in the health and social care sector. We also offer brain injury awareness sessions for the family of a brain injury survivor. Our CPD-accredited courses help participants understand how brain function is affected by brain injury, explore the complexities involved, and learn how to effectively support a person living with a brain injury.

Understanding brain injury enables individuals to provide person-centred, effective, and empathetic care and support to brain injury survivors. This understanding helps in recognizing and addressing the diverse physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioural challenges that often follow a brain injury, leading to better support, rehabilitation, and quality of life for both the individual and their family. Early and informed responses to behavioural changes can enhance social integration, emotional well-being, and enhanced functional independence. Even with prior knowledge, ongoing training remains crucial as it equips professionals, care and support workers with up-to-date strategies to navigate evolving challenges, promote continued client recovery and contribute to personal development.

Rachel James is an Occupational Therapist (OT) registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and over her varied career of more than 34 years, Rachel has in-depth experience as a specialist brain injury OT, Case Manager and Clinical Trainer within statutory and private brain injury rehabilitation and case management services. Rachel is passionate about making a positive difference to clients living with brain injury through developing the knowledge, skills and attitudes of those who provide care and support.
