Description:
Presents their flagship offering:
- FORENSIC SAFEGUARDING TRAINING- Empowering professionals with forensic-informed safeguarding skills. - A Unique, One-Day led Professional Development Event
- The first bespoke forensic safeguarding CPD-accredited programme of its kind in the UK.
- This innovative expert-led one-day training brings together forensic thinking and safeguarding practice to strengthen professional curiosity, improve investigative decision-making, and enhance outcomes for children and young people.
It offers an online and face-to-face 1-day course. If delegates attend the face-to-face training, then at the start of each session, participants engage in CSI LEGO dioramas, a dynamic, hands-on activity (research-proven) that builds observational skills, analytical reasoning, and a curious mindset—setting the foundation for more advanced safeguarding learning throughout the programme.
Bringing forensic thinking into safeguarding isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. Safeguarding decisions often hinge on how well practitioners can interpret what they see, hear, and are told. Yet without a forensic lens, even experienced professionals can be unintentionally swayed by cognitive bias, accepting explanations that sound plausible but don’t match the injury’s severity, pattern, or location.
This is exactly where forensic safeguarding training becomes transformative. It teaches practitioners to:
- Recognise injury patterns and understand what is medically plausible.
- Spot inconsistencies between the explanation and the physical evidence.
- Challenge cognitive bias, rather than defaulting to the simplest or most comfortable narrative.
- Make defensible, evidence‑informed decisions that stand up to scrutiny.
- Protect children more effectively by grounding assessments in objective, forensic reasoning.
In short, knowing what injuries really look like—and what they mean—empowers professionals to move beyond assumptions and safeguard with clarity, confidence, and accuracy.
This programme offers a forward-thinking, preventative approach, the first-of-its-kind approach to safeguarding. It supports professionals in making quicker, clearer, and more confident decisions to protect children — using engaging methods grounded in forensic science, social work practice, and real-world safeguarding experience.
Tina Treacy is the creator of the UK’s first bespoke Forensic Safeguarding Training Programme. She has 25 years of eclectic experience, is an ex forensic scientist and current member of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences and a registered social worker with Social Work England/Wales.
This innovative training fuses forensic principles and safeguarding practice, helping professionals work collaboratively to identify, interpret, and respond to early signs of abuse.
