Description:

Primary Care Academy provides CPD-accredited online, blended and face-to-face training for primary care, healthcare and social care professionals. Our practical, accessible courses help individuals and organisations maintain compliance, develop workforce skills and support safe, high-quality care.

Our training includes mandatory and statutory subjects, clinical skills and professional development, with courses covering areas such as safeguarding, basic life support, infection prevention and control, information governance, mental capacity, sepsis, anaphylaxis and phlebotomy. Learners can complete individual courses or access a broader learning package tailored to their role, team or organisation.

Why is regular training important in health and social care? Up-to-date training helps staff understand their responsibilities, apply current guidance and respond confidently to situations they may encounter in practice. Our courses are designed to make essential topics clear, relevant and easy to apply in real working environments.

What training options are available? We offer flexible e-learning that can be completed at a convenient time, alongside live online sessions, practical face-to-face training and blended programmes. Organisations can also request group sessions at their own venue, bespoke learning packages and training developed around specific workforce needs.

Learners can use our dedicated learning platform, PCAT, to access training, monitor progress and retrieve certificates. Managers and organisations can also benefit from centralised training records and compliance reporting, helping them identify learning needs and maintain evidence for assurance and inspection.

Primary Care Academy is part of Rochdale Health Alliance, a GP federation with extensive experience supporting primary care services and workforce development. As a recognised CPD provider, we are committed to delivering engaging, relevant and professionally accredited learning for the health and social care workforce.
