Methodology

  • The philosophy for all Academic Summer’s curriculum is based around CLIL: Content and Language Integrated Learning. Students study the content of academic subjects and at the same time, they improve their language skills.
  • Students are placed into classes by their ages and we have three streams:

Adventurers aged 7 to 12

  • Academic Juniors is a challenging and fun-packed learning experience for young learners.  Young adventurers learn English, maths, sciences, social studies and arts. Lessons, trips and activities all fit around a weekly theme bringing everything to life.

Explorers aged 12/13 to 14

  • Explorers study English, mathematics, science, social studies and arts, they develop their IT skills, language and study skills.  This is aimed at students preparing for years 9 and 10 in the UK system (GCSE) and helps them to explore different subject areas giving them a broad curriculum.

Engagers aged 15 to 17

  • Students engage and specialise in the subjects they want to study depending on  their  academic needs and interests. Academic Summer writes the timetable around student choices and students each have an individual timetable. They offer specialist camps: Get Ready for Medicine, Get Ready for IELTS and Get Ready for Computer Science.
