Description:

Age Scotland have been delivering high quality, interactive and engaging dementia awareness workshops since 2015.  This tailored virtual workshop aims to ensure HR teams, people managers and customer facing staff are better informed and prepared to respond effectively to the issues surrounding dementia in the workplace.

Available to both individuals and groups of up to 16, some of the topics covered in our workshops include:

  • Signs, symptoms and risk factors of dementia
  • Communicating effectively with someone with dementia
  • Employer legal obligations
  • Supporting an employee or customer living with dementia
  • Workplace support for employees who are carers of people living with dementia


Accredited Activities:

  • Dementia Awareness (General) (3 CPD hours)
  • Dementia Awareness for Customer-Facing Staff (3 CPD hours)
  • Dementia Awareness for People Managers (3 CPD hours)
  • Dementia Awareness for Housing Teams (4 CPD hours)
  • Dementia Awareness for HR Teams (4 CPD hours)

  • Unconscious Bias
  • Age Inclusion for Managers


Who Should Attend:

Anyone whose life may be affected by dementia should attend a workshop, whether you would like to know more about dementia for personal interest, or if through your job role you may encounter people who have dementia – even in the early stages.

If you would like to learn how to communicate effectively and empathetically with someone living with dementia, whether a customer or co-worker then you will find our workshops worthwhile.
