Description:

The Tourism Space — accredited training in sustainable, regenerative and collaborative tourism

The Tourism Space delivers accredited and CPD-recognised training in sustainable, regenerative and collaborative tourism. We work on behalf of national, regional and local tourism authorities to build the capability of tourism operators and the confidence of the people who lead destinations. Our three flagship programmes are the Certificate in Sustainable Tourism Practice in Destinations, the Certificate in Collaborative Destination Leadership, and the Certificate in Tourism Network and Enterprise Development.

Our courses give tourism businesses and destination leaders a ready-made toolkit for putting sustainability and collaboration into practice. Learners gain practical expertise in running leaner, greener operations that deliver net positive benefit to their place and community. They also build real skill in working across sectors, engaging stakeholders and telling a credible sustainability story, so they can lead change rather than simply respond to it. Every programme draws on proprietary frameworks, real-world case studies and step-by-step methods for planning, delivering and measuring progress.

Why is sustainable tourism training important? Tourism professionals are increasingly expected to balance economic growth with the needs of communities, businesses, visitors and the environment. Our courses help participants understand these competing priorities and make more informed, place-sensitive decisions.

How can collaborative destination leadership training help? Our programmes help leaders and tourism officers work effectively across sectors, build stronger partnerships, engage communities and stakeholders, and create shared direction for a destination. We cover the full spread of the leadership role, from communication and governance to funding, branding, measurement and strategic planning.

What will learners gain from our tourism courses? Depending on the programme, participants develop skills in sustainable and regenerative tourism practice, collaborative leadership, stakeholder and community engagement, destination branding, enterprise development, costing and pricing of visitor experiences, governance and funding, climate action, sustainability storytelling, accessibility, measurement and reporting, and strategic planning.

The Tourism Space is a certified B Corporation™, an approved provider of the CPD Standards Office, and also offers university-accredited programmes. We work with tourism agencies, local authorities, universities, destination organisations and industry networks across Ireland, the UK and internationally, and deliver bilingually in Irish and English where required. Our courses are designed and delivered by tourism specialists with deep experience in destination development, leadership, sustainability and industry practice.
