Why are mental health and neurodiversity courses important as parts of your CPD?
Mental health and neurodiversity are topics that are often floating around in the news and social media. While awareness of these topics is growing, awareness and understanding at a deeper level is still needed. This is important because society has changed so much and continues to do so in different ways. Being inclusive and understanding of individuals' needs, mental health and neurodiversity has high importance in the world we live in today and impacts all of us in every career pathway.
Emotional Problem Solving Ltd is a company founded and directed by Lavinia Dowling, a licensed Mental Health Nurse. Emotional Problem Solving Ltd provides training in mental health and neurodiversity and looks at research associated with emotions of self-esteem, self-worth, thoughts and feelings. It was founded in 2006, closing in 2010 for a period of time while Lavinia studied for her masters at university and then reopened the doors to it in 2021. Lavinia is also the founder and director of The M Word cic, a sister company linked to Emotional Problem Solving Ltd, offering initial screenings and assessments under mental health and neurodiversity as well as access to therapy sessions.
