Description:
We specialise in reflex integration training using the INPP Method, for professionals working with children and adults who experience difficulties with learning, movement, or emotional regulation.
Our Practitioner Training helps occupational therapists, teachers, psychologists, physiotherapists, and other professionals recognise and address retained primitive reflexes — often an overlooked factor behind reading difficulties, poor coordination, concentration difficulties, and dysregulated behaviour in children, and behind similar patterns in adults.
Why do retained primitive reflexes matter for professionals working with children? When early reflexes fail to integrate as expected, they can continue to influence posture, balance, and attention long after they should have settled — shaping presentations that are often misunderstood as purely educational or behavioural. Understanding this layer gives practitioners a fuller picture of what may sit underneath a child's difficulties.
How can practitioner training improve outcomes for children with learning or movement difficulties? By adding a structured, standardised assessment of neuromotor development to a practitioner's existing toolkit, so difficulties that look educational or behavioural on the surface can be understood — and supported — from a developmental angle as well.
INPP UK is led by Pauline Shannon, National Principal for Training, appointed by the Institute for Neuro-Physiological Psychology in Chester, and part of an international community of INPP National Principals and trainers. Practitioner Training runs over one year, leading to Licentiate status, and combines practical training days, supervised casework, and case study submission.

Who Should Attend:
The Practitioner Training is for professionals, occupational therapists, teachers, psychologists, physiotherapists, and social workers, among others. Trainees come from a range of established practice backgrounds and add the INPP Method as a new tool alongside their existing expertise. The courses in turn equip those professionals to work with children and adults who experience difficulties with learning, movement, coordination, concentration, or emotional regulation – including those with dyslexia, ADHD, dyspraxia/DCD, ASD, or sensory processing differences.
