Description:

Lomond ADHD Services C.I.C. provides ADHD training, workshops and support programmes for parents, carers, schools and education professionals, helping adults better understand ADHD and provide practical, neurodiversity-affirming support for children and young people.

Our ADHD parenting programmes and workshops help parents and carers understand how ADHD can affect executive functioning, emotional regulation, behaviour, communication, routines, confidence, self-esteem and experiences at school. Training focuses on moving beyond behaviour alone to understand what may be happening underneath it, while giving families realistic strategies they can use in everyday life.

Our ADHD school training supports teachers, learning assistants and other education professionals to better understand ADHD in the classroom. Sessions explore areas including executive functioning, emotional regulation, behaviour as communication, reasonable adjustments, demand-related difficulties, relationships and practical strategies that can help reduce overwhelm and enable ADHD pupils to participate and learn.

Training is designed to bridge the gap between ADHD theory and what ADHD can actually look like in everyday family and school life. It combines evidence-informed learning with practical strategies and lived and professional experience.

Lomond ADHD Services C.I.C. is led by Rachel Timmoney, an ADHD Coach, Trainer and Health Visitor with over 10 years' NHS experience. Rachel works with children and families professionally and is also a parent to neurodivergent children, bringing together professional knowledge, lived experience and a trauma-informed, neurodivergent-first approach.

Lomond ADHD Services C.I.C. is a member of the CPD Standards Office and is currently undertaking CPD accreditation of its training programmes.

Who Should Attend:

Our ADHD training and programmes are designed for parents, carers, teachers, learning assistants, school staff and other professionals supporting children and young people with ADHD.

Parent programmes and workshops are suitable for parents and carers who want to better understand their child’s ADHD and develop practical strategies to support executive functioning, emotional regulation, communication, behaviour, routines, confidence and school experiences. School and education training is suitable for teachers, learning assistants, support staff and wider education teams who want to improve their understanding of ADHD and create more supportive, neurodiversity-affirming learning environments.

Training helps staff understand the needs behind behaviour, recognise barriers related to executive functioning and emotional regulation, consider appropriate reasonable adjustments, and use practical strategies that can be applied within the classroom and wider school environment.

No previous specialist knowledge of ADHD is required. Training is designed to build understanding, confidence and practical skills that can be used in everyday interactions with ADHD children and young people.
