MATCON™ provides CPD-accredited postnatal contraception training for midwives, maternity professionals, NHS Trusts, maternity systems, universities and individual healthcare professionals.

Our evidence-based training helps maternity staff develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to begin timely, person-centred contraception conversations and support informed reproductive choices after birth. Training covers return to fertility, contraceptive options following childbirth, clinical eligibility, effective counselling and reducing barriers to access.

MATCON™ offers a comprehensive Train-the-Trainer programme for NHS Trusts and maternity systems, as well as online postnatal contraception training days for individual professionals and teams. Midwives, student midwives and other healthcare professionals interested in attending an online training day can contact victoria@matcontraining.uk for upcoming dates, fees and booking information.

MATCON™ was founded by Victoria Pirie, an experienced Specialist Contraceptive Midwife and Co-Chair of the Post-Birth Contraception Network UK. Victoria has more than 25 years’ experience in maternity care and extensive expertise in developing postnatal contraception services, workforce education and improving access for those experiencing health inequalities.
