Description:

Our charity
We are nurtureuk, an organisation dedicated to improving the social, emotional, mental health and wellbeing of children and young people (CYP).

We’ve been at the forefront of the nurture movement for over 50 years, and today – with ever more children and young people affected by issues that can impact their learning – our work is more vital than ever.

Our work
Evidence-based and practice-led, we work across the education sector, to promote and embed the Six Principles of Nurture and the Boxall Profile® in educational settings, as well as at the level of local and national policy. This work spans several key areas:

  • Training practitioners to identify pupils’ needs and provide the right support.
  • Developing and providing resources to remove pupils’ barriers to learning.
  • Helping schools and wider communities to foster a nurturing culture.
  • Working with policymakers to ensure that no child is left behind.
  • Working with researchers and academics to evidence the impact of a nurturing approach to education.

Accredited Activities:

Who Should Attend:

The Theory and Practice of the Boxall Profile®

  • This course is suitable for anyone working directly or indirectly in the education sector with children or young people. The theory section covers concepts considered through the lens of nurture, whilst the practice section focuses on the successful use of the Boxall Profile® assessment tool – assessment, interpretation, and planning.

The National Nurturing Schools Programme

  • The National Nurturing Schools Programme is open to all school phases and types within the UK. You must be able to commit one senior leader and one other staff member to attend the programme, and lead the work within your school. Schools that successfully achieve the National Nurturing Schools Award usually involve the whole school community in their nurture journey.
