Description:
Red Card was founded in 2015 by former professional footballer and gambling addict Mr Tony Kelly. We are a regulator [GAMBLING COMMISSION] approved gambling awareness delivery partner, and our primary service is delivering educational gambling awareness workshops and training. We adopted a lived experience model, with all our facilitators coming from a lived experience background, thus giving us more credibility with our working partners in the sector.
We work with a number of agencies and bodies such as NCS, GAMBLING COMMISSION, GAMCARE, SCHOOLS, ENFIED YOUTH and many more. We offer half-day gambling awareness training, and also 1 hour presentation workshops for schools to help accommodate their PSHE programmes. Part of our services also includes one-to-one telephone consultations, which include a follow-up individual referral to our treatment provider partner GAMCARE. Our workshops are both educational and engaging, and we focus on raising awareness of all aspects of problem gambling, making sure our audience will have a better understanding of problem gambling.
Our new partners include:
- Warwickshire council
- Haringey council
- Hounslow council
- Gamble Aware
- Better change CIC
Accredited Activities:
Who Should Attend:
The activities are aimed at both children and young adults, and also business professionals and employers. Red card have delivered to a variety of demographics and cohort groups, but our main target audience for this certification will be employers and their service users/staff, due to the increase in problem gambling within the workplace as outlined in the recent public health England report [2 months ago]. The course will cover all aspects of a gambling disorder/gambling addiction, and will enable all delegates to gain a better understanding of what gambling addiction looks like.
