Description:

S.M.I.L.E. Counselling and Training are a charity based in Livingston, Scotland. Our organisation delivers CPD events of varying durations, that are delivered online (via zoom), face-to-face (at our premises or yours), and pre-recorded training inputs (accessed via our website).

 

S.M.I.L.E. provides CPD inputs on a range of different topics such as:

  • Trauma informed practice.
  • Trauma informed treatment.
  • Working with neurodiversity (adults and children and young people).
  • Working with neurotypical children and young people.
  • Working creatively with children and young people.
  • Introduction to CBT.
  • Attachment and Development.
  • Safeguarding Support.
  • Managing Vicarious Trauma.

 

Our events are relevant to workers across the helping professions, such as counsellors, psychotherapists, social workers, psychologists, support workers, addiction workers, teachers and carers.

 

The team responsible for delivering our CPD materials is all qualified or accredited Counsellors/ Psychotherapists and are members of UK-based professional bodies. Furthermore, all are qualified trainers or teachers.

  • Understanding and Treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Our CPD events are ideal Counsellors and Psychotherapists who wish to enhance their practice by enhancing their knowledge, skills, and attitudes.

Our events are also relevant to other helping professionals such as teachers, social workers, and social care workers who are required to be trauma informed or inhabit safeguarding roles within their professional life.
