Staffordshire Women’s Aid is an award winning charity supporting victims of domestic and sexual violence in Staffordshire since 1976. Through specialist support, they empower victims/survivors to change their lives and plan for safer, healthier and independent futures.
Our Values are Passion, Empowerment and Trust – they want a world where women and children are free from Domestic Violence.

Their service is accessed through our 24-Hour Helpline which operates 365 days a year and accepts agency and self referrals.
Services include: The 24hr helpline, Refuge, Outreach Support, Men Too, Counselling, Group Work, Sexual Violence Service, Children’s Service, Training, Research and Campaign work.
The service is available to women and men who are living with, fleeing or recovering from domestic and/or sexual abuse & violence and aims to support and empower victims to be able to move forward with their lives, free from abuse and violence.
They Deliver a comprehensive range of multi-agency training, awareness-raising, and preventative educational programmes, aiming to change attitudes in our local communities eg.

Domestic Abuse Awarness Training, Sexual Violence Awareness Training, Working with Children Affected by Domestic/Sexual Violence. Our training can also be tailored to the specific needs of your organisation.
Their Children & Young People’s service is available to any child between aged 5 -18yrs who is living with, fleeing or recovering from domestic/sexual abuse & violence. They offer one to one therapeutic services, counselling and also work in schools delivering educational workshops aimed at raising awareness of and promoting healthy, non-abusive relationships.
They contribute to research on Domestic Violence at local, national and international levels.
Staffordshire Women’s Aid has a long history of expertise in the area and work as part of a community partnership aimed at creating safer communities.

Who Should Attend:

The training sessions are aimed at any professional working with, or likely to work with, families or individuals who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse/violence. eg. Education/Health/Social Care/Police/Probation/Housing/Children’s Service/Drug and Alcohol services etc.
Delegates could come from the private, public or voluntary sectors.
The courses aim to raise awareness of the extent and impact domestic/sexual abuse has on individuals and families, how to improve practise in responding to victims of domestic/sexual abuse and to gain awareness of the routes to safety for victims.
