Description:
Making Every Contact Count (MECC) is about using the power of short conversations to help people improve their health and wellbeing and access the support they need. By using key behaviour change skills, we can gradually increase people’s confidence and motivation to make changes to improve their lives.
Surrey County Council Public Health offers fully funded MECC training to all frontline staff and volunteers in Surrey who have contact with Surrey residents and/or patients. The majority of programme participants work in either health and social care, local authorities, community and voluntary sector organisations, fire & rescue services and libraries.
The MECC courses are 2 or 3 hours long and are offered online.

Who Should Attend:
These courses are aimed at anyone working on the frontline with residents and/or patients in Surrey. The training will equip attendees with the skills to hold conversations using a behaviour change approach, in order to help people improve their health and wellbeing, and to give them the confidence to signpost to local resources.
