UK Barre Academy

UK Barre Academy provides CPD-accredited Barre Instructor Training for qualified fitness professionals, Pilates instructors, yoga teachers, personal trainers and experienced dance teachers who want to add Barre to their professional teaching skill set.

Founded by Maggie Paterson, drawing on more than 40 years of experience teaching ballet at the world-famous Pineapple Dance Studios in London alongside extensive experience in Pilates, yoga, Barre and fitness, UK Barre Academy brings authentic ballet technique into the modern fitness environment.

Our practical 8-Module UK Barre Academy Method combines ballet foundations, posture and alignment, Pilates-inspired core work, strength and conditioning, classical Barre exercises, cardiovascular choreography, musicality, flexibility and mobility.

The programme is designed for existing movement and fitness professionals. Participants learn not simply a choreographed class to copy, but a structured Barre teaching framework that enables them to use their own professional experience, creativity and teaching personality.

The formula gives you the framework. Your experience makes it your class.

Training includes practical tuition, comprehensive course materials and workbook, class-planning guidance, progressions and adaptations, cueing and correction techniques, followed by a practical teaching assessment.

Following successful completion of the training and assessment, participants become UK Barre Academy Certified Instructors, having completed CPD-accredited specialist Barre training.
