The Welding Institute
The Welding Institute is a professional engineering institution, meaning they are able to register engineers and technicians globally into the Institute. The Welding Institute is the leading professional institution for the registration of welding and joining engineers. They are a licensed member of the Engineering Council and this allows them to assess Members to nationally register as professional engineers and technicians.
Members of the Welding Institute are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and development needs. It is mandatory for members to record their CPD activities and evaluate their CPD activities against any objectives which they have set.
CPD is a vital part of Engineering Council registration and membership. The Engineering Council has directed that CPD commitment amongst registrants will be increasingly regulated. Subsequently, all professional engineering institutions are required to monitor their registrants CPD activities and request a sample of registrants to submit their records each year for review and feedback.
