Description:

🌿 The Neurodivergent Counsellor
Lived Experience–Led | Trauma-Informed | Neurodivergent-Affirming CPD Training

The Neurodivergent Counsellor offers CPD-accredited, evidence-informed training designed to empower professionals, parents, and neurodivergent adults to support neurodivergent lives through inclusive, practical, and affirming approaches.

My name is Michelle Blake — I’m a multiply neurodivergent practitioner, part of an intergenerational neurodivergent family, and bring over 14 years’ experience as a counsellor and therapeutic coach. Through The Neurodivergent Counsellor, I create lived experience–led resources that bridge the gap between the everyday realities of neurodivergent people and the professional frameworks designed to support them.

My approach combines deep personal insight with professional expertise and research-informed frameworks. I understand the complex realities faced by practitioners, parents, educators, and neurodivergent adults alike — because I’ve worked within the systems, and I’ve lived on the other side of them too.

Each resource I develop is grounded in intersectionality, regulation-based practice, and identity safety. Whether you're supporting someone exploring their gender, navigating burnout, or unmasking after a late diagnosis, my toolkits provide practical, affirming, and emotionally safe ways to move forward.

All training materials are created to be flexible, low-demand, and adaptable — suitable for use in individual practice, teams, or organisational change. This work isn’t about compliance — it’s about co-regulation, autonomy, and creating the conditions for neurodivergent people to thrive.

Who Should Attend:

Who These Courses Are For

My CPD-accredited courses are ideal for:

Counsellors, therapists, and clinical supervisors looking to deepen their understanding of neurodivergent identity, emotional regulation, and masking.

Educators, SENCOs, and inclusion leads who want to create safer, more responsive learning environments for autistic, ADHD, PDA, and AuDHD learners.

Social care and youth workers supporting neurodivergent children, adults, and families navigating identity, trauma, and regulation needs.

Occupational therapists, mental health practitioners, and support staff who are seeking to adopt sensory-aware, trauma-informed approaches in practice.

Parents, carers, and family members wanting to understand their children’s needs and build affirming, low-demand routines.

Neurodivergent adults and peer mentors pursuing professional development or preparing to deliver their own community support sessions.

Participants will benefit from tools that centre lived experience, neurodivergent informed and trauma-informed care, with practical, reflective resources that can be applied immediately in therapeutic, educational, and care-based settings. The outcome is deeper confidence, more inclusive language, and support strategies rooted in safety, regulation, and autonomy.
